Counselling online.
My qualification: Advanced Certificate in Counselling Skills and Theory, Fife College, 2001 - person-centred approach.
What can it help?
To deal with difficult emotions, life situations or relationships
Develop a more complete understanding and acceptance of self
Nurture self-confidence and a strong, resilient core self.
What happens?
We sit down together or connect via a video link and I ask you how you are and allow you to talk about what you wish at entirely your own pace.
At all times you are in control of the process - it will go where you want it to. I act as a faciltator, an active listener, a person who will reflect your thoughts and feelings and help you make sense of them. From there we can explore the best way forward. At the end of the session we review things and find out how you are, where you want to go from here.
I originally trained with and worked for the Samaritans in Edinburgh in 1988 for three years. I then trained in counselling at Fife College from 2000-2002 and worked as a volunteer counsellor at Acorn Counselling Services in Edinburgh from 2002-2006. Since then, I have worked in private practice.
I believe in creating a nurturing environment where you fel valued and supported. With that support you are enabled to explore your feelings and thoughts in connection with whatever you want. Feeling supported and accepted is therapeutic and this along with improved self-understanding can help you move forward in your life in a positive direction.
Price is £60 for one hour, £40 for concessions.
